Experience the Body, Experience the Text: Experience in and from the Song of Songs

Programme

As the seventh meeting in an annual series arranged by the two chairs of this session, this session continues the tradition of bringing together exegetical studies with hermeneutical- interpretative contributions on the Song of Songs. For the present meeting, contributions should be arranged around the topic of experience - either how experience is depicted or related to within the text of Song of Songs, or how the experience of the text in its later reception may be depicted, be that in studied analyses of the text or how the text of Song of Songs is related to in broader society. Contributions from exegetes / theologians as well as from other disciplines (e.g. art history, literature studies) are therefore equally welcomed.

These aims fit well with the purpose of the EABS in encouraging all aspects of the study of the biblical text, its origination and its heritage.

Contributions should centre on the topic of experience - either how experience is depicted or related to within the text of Song of Songs, or how the experience of the text in its later reception may be depicted, Contributions from exegetes / theologians as well as from other disciplines (e.g. art history, literature studies, and so forth) are therefore equally welcomed.
